In a city full of firsts and record-breakers, Dubai has another unique one to add to the list.
That’s because the world’s first sports hotel – the Emirates Sports Hotel – is now in the heart of Dubai Sports City.
Tailored to meet the needs of modern athletes on the go, the hotel offers a unique set of amenities to its guests with training, nutrition, recovery and relaxation services all on offer.
From sports teams to fitness enthusiasts, it looks after the needs of every visitor and keeps their various dietary needs at the forefront with a special sports restaurant.
The restaurant, which is the first of its kind in the UAE, offers a nutrition-focused menu with input from physicians to tailor meals to each visitor. After all, what a bodybuilder eats varies from what a ballerina eats.
Surrounded by the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, FitRepublik, football grounds and an Olympic pool among other things, the hotel is ideally located for sports fans in Dubai.
Each of its 144 hotel rooms, 40 hotel apartments and eight penthouse apartments comes fully equipped with in-room training facilities, so you’re never too far away from getting your reps in.
Particular attention is paid to the finer details, including exclusive furnishings, panoramic windows that flood the rooms with natural light, and orthopedic mattresses designed to ensure optimal recovery after physical activity.
Free daily training sessions are held on-site for hotel guests and other Dubai visitors.
Facilities also include the region’s first specialised sports spa with professional sports massages, rehab services and recovery treatments all aimed at helping physical and mental wellness during competition times.
The Emirates Sports Hotel comes from the team behind the Middle East’s first professional ice hockey arena and the World Strongmanevent.
Vladimir Burdun, Emirates Sports Group CEO, has lived in the UAE for more than 30 years and believes the hotel will boost sports tourism in Dubai.
He said: “This is not just a hotel; it is a fully integrated sports facility designed to enhance athletic performance, support recovery, and provide a first-class experience to all who are passionate about sports.
“We believe that this format represents the future of sports tourism and hospitality. We are proud to have brought this ambitious project to life, where every guest can experience a new quality of life through sports.
“Our hotel is designed to offer the perfect environment for training and recovery for athletes and sports lovers globally.”
Having first opened in 2022, before SIRO at One Za’abeel, the Emirates Sports Hotel has now publicly revealed what’s inside for the first time.
It has already hosted multiple sports teams across a number of different disciplines including the USA Cricket national team, New Zealand swimming Olympic team, Saudi Arabia triathlon team, Serbian Boxing Federation and Australia national rugby sevens team.
The hotel also regularly welcomes local football clubs such as United FC, Rodina FC and Al Rams.
